Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT’S AN ESCAPE GAME?

The concept is simple. You and your group will be escorted to a room with a specific theme. We won’t have to explain the theme, it’ll be clear! (Like a good joke, if you have to explain it, it doesn’t work!). The game master will explain the rules and instructions you need, but the rest is up to you! You’ll have exactly 60 minutes to solve all the puzzles and find all the clues you need to escape the room. Think you’re up for the challenge?

Conundrum features some of Colorado’s most immersive escape game experiences. Solve riddles, complete unique puzzles, scavenge for clues, and work as a team while engaging your minds in a real life, creative escape game with friends, family or coworkers. We strive to provide an amazing experience for first-time visitors and experienced escapers alike!

So, how hard are our escape games? That’s entirely up to you and your group. If you’re a lone wolf, expect to fail, but if you effectively work with the group, you’ve got a decent shot.

Commonly Asked Questions

  • Chevron down How do you book a game?
  • The best way to reserve a game is to book online through our website. Online booking closes one hour before the scheduled times, please call us at (720) 441-3011 for last-minute booking. Walk-ins are possible but cannot be guaranteed.

  • Chevron down Do I need a reservation?
  • Yes! Although you can walk in without a reservation, we strongly recommend booking and paying in advance to ensure a slot in the scenario you want. Payment and reservations can be made on our site or at our location while you wait. Keep in mind, we are a non-cash business. Please arrive 15 minutes before your start time.

  • Chevron down Are there age limits?
  • Players under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult that agrees to be their guardian. While some of our puzzles may be challenging/sophisticated, some 8-13 year old participants have been successful at solving them!

  • Chevron down How many players can participate?
  • Our scenarios are best suited for groups of 4-6 players. The scenarios are impossible to complete alone and are very difficult to complete with a group of only 2. If you have a group larger than 6-8, we recommend splitting into two groups to best experience the game.

  • Chevron down Will there be other groups or strangers in the room with me?
  • Nope! Conundrum has a ‘private room only’ booking system, so you will always have the room to yourselves!

  • Chevron down Will the room actually be locked?
  • For your safety, the room won’t actually be locked (but we can pretend). You will always be able to exit in case of emergencies.

  • Chevron down Would this game be more fun drunk or high?
  • Although some of life’s activities might be more fun under the influence of mind-altering substances, we don’t think this is one of them. Having a clear, focused mind actually makes this game more enjoyable and your team more successful. This game should not be played under the influence of any mind-altering substances aside from prescription medication and/or caffeine. Remember, our staff reserves the right to refuse anyone for any reason. Celebrate after you win!

  • Chevron down How long will I be at Conundrum?
  • You should plan to be here 80-90 minutes total. The escape experience is one hour, but you should arrive 10-15 minutes early, and you will typically leave about 10-15 minutes after you finish your room. If you have some time concerns, please call us at (720) 441-3011 to discuss. We have a lot of scheduling flexibility!

  • Chevron down Are the rooms handicap accessible?
  • Mostly. We have a single step up from our parking lot, and a single step to reach the Cabin in the Woods room. We do not have dedicated handicap parking. All of the rooms also have at least one chair to rest in.

  • Chevron down Do I need to wear or bring anything special to the escape room?
  • Generally, no, you will lock up your personal belongings while you are in the room. The only item you might need to provide for yourself is reading glasses, and of course your sense of adventure!

  • Chevron down Can Conundrum accommodate large groups or corporate events?
  • Yes!  Currently, we can accommodate up to 28 players at once with advanced notice, and we are continuing to expand. If you have more than 30 people in your group, we have other options available to accommodate you – just give us a call at (720) 441-3011.

  • Chevron down Do you offer catering or meeting space?
  • We do not have facilities for post-escape game events in our Lakewood location, but we do have a conference space and the option for in-house catering at our second location in Arvada.

  • Chevron down Is this good for team building for work?
  • Absolutely! We’ve had tons of groups from companies big and small come through our room for a fun and effective team building experience.

  • Chevron down What is your refund/cancellation policy?
  • You may CANCEL your reservation up to 48 hours in advance of your scheduled start time with a full refund. You may RESCHEDULE up to 24 hours in advance of your appointment. Within 24 hours, no changes may be made to your appointment. No refunds will be given on previously rescheduled events.

  • Chevron down What happens if I am running late to my appointment?
  • Because we have a strict schedule that we must keep throughout the day, if you run late your game timer will still start at your scheduled time. Please make every effort to arrive 10 minutes early!

  • Chevron down Are the escape games scary?
  • No, we do not design our rooms to scare people like in a scary movie. But there are surprises in store, and some of them may startle you.

  • Chevron down Are any Conundrum employees in the room with us during our game?
  • Nope, players only!
